starting out the summer.

Yay..soccer is over. Now we just have to start the summer and before we know it summer will be over as well. Oliver's team won their first game and almost didnt lose their second game. All's well that ends well. The kids had a lot of fun and that's what really matters anyway.
We have found another hobby which seems to be taken alot of our time as well. Our family has discovered the joy of geocaching. It's alot of fun and some excersize if you don't mind a little bushwacking. We found our first three without any problems, but when I took the kids out without Marty we unfortunately came home empty handed. The tank geocache is elusive and now in my bad books. We took dad and drayden with us the last time and I think they really enjoyed themselves. It's a good thing that we took dad as he was able to find the last cache hidden in the empty hollow of the tree.

2007

The year has gone so fast I don't think i can do a year in review as I can barely remember what has all happened. Marty partnership at Able Plumbing and Heating has also ended and he will be striking out into the workforce alone this year. It's exciting but there is so much that needs to be done so he can do this.

I am still taking pictures. We have converted the old family room into a "studio" so that I can still take pictures indoors when the weather rears it's ugly head. I seem to be taking more and more glam shots so the studio is nice to have for those. All that's missing is the new camera. hopefully that will come soon.

Hopefully 2007 is the year Tanya, that we keep in touch well with the blogger. I promise to post more.

something could be wrong with me

I don't know what it is but lately I have been having a ton of trouble when it comes to listening. Someone will give me instructions or ask me to do something, and half way through the task I am thinking "okay now what did they say her name was?" or "now that I am finished what did they want me to do with this?" The thing is i swear that when I am being told these things I am listening. Somehow I seem to lose the important info that I need. I have come to two conlusions. Maybe I am not eating enough, or getting the nourishment that I need. (We all no that I have become crazy health concious) The other reason could be plain old simple arrogance. I must admit that most of the time at work I am quite cocky (obviously it hasn't bitten me in the ass yet). Who knows....Of all things it could have been the massive amounts of whiskey that I consumed last weekend at Jenn's party. I'm just not used to that kind of abuse any more.

eye yeye yeye

i Can't believe what a terrible blogger i have become. Seriously it's rediculous, 2 blogs a month? I got to get better at this for sure.

Things have been crazy the last couple weeks. We had a sitter come in and look after the kids. that was great she played with them, took them out and cleaned up thier messes in the evening. There were times that I would come home and wouldn't even have known what they had for lunch because it was all cleaned up!

Also, Moira has just been reffered to surgery for her heart. It should take place in Oct/Nov. We are happy that we are finaly look at the end of her congenital heart defect. yay, one day she will actually have a normal halloween and be one of those kids who can go to summer camp.

In the last four weeks I have also really started to change my lifesyle. I don't know if it's the whole turning 30 thing, or the fact that I am becoming more vain or what but I have started making healthier choices. no, no, no, I still drink...Oh yeah(i'm not crazy!) and smoke after I have had those drinks. I have started running 3 times a week, doing stregnth training on the other days and watching what I eat. Can you believe that I used to consume almost 800 calories alone on coffee beverages a day! Ahh! No wonder I got so much done. Iwasn't able to do any cardio outside today so I opted for pilates. (which I thought was really wimpy until I had to work my butt and then I cried a little) Then I tried the carmen electra strip aerobics. Hmm I kind of felt dumb sashaying like that in my living room. Not only that, I know I didn't look like her when I was doing it. I reminded myself of that really drunk older woman that dances at the bar byherself (because no one can get near her as she will knock them over) Hopefully it will go better the next couple times around and if not then I will hang up my "stilletos" and stay with good old Richard Simmons. At least that way I can be assured that I am the hottest in the room. haha.

Cooling Off

I have been debating for awhile on whether or not to get the kids a pool. Today I bit the bullet and while they were at church Marty and I headed of to Sears to get them one. We had a great Sunday, probally one of the best in awhile. It took Marty and i 20 minutes to start filling the monstrous thing with water and then about 4 hours to fill it up. But we all had a great time, I think we spent over four hours in it today.

About Me

My photo
I started taking pictures of my kids when I started scrapbooking. I really wanted my pages and pictures to look like the sample ones in the scrapbooking magazines. It took a lot of hard work, researching, learning and a few hundred roles of film but I got the results that I wanted. Portraiture quickly became a passionate hobby. Finally, in February 2007 I opened Madchen Studios. The studio has become the perfect outlet to feed my obbesion with perfect photographs.
